The Nigeria CSR Awards is an annual event organized to promote corporate social responsibility, sustainability and good corporate citizenship. It is a very effective, unique and strategic platform where participating corporations demonstrate to stakeholders that they care about the people (community) and the environment even as they make profit.
The Nigeria Social Enterprise Report 2013 documents stories of firms that have begun and will continue in the near future to impact sustainably, Nigeria’s social and environmental landscape.
The Nigeria CSR Awards, popularly known as The SERAs, will give out 16 different award categories for this year. The event will be chaired by Honourable John Owan-Enoh, member, Federal House of Representative while the keynote address will be delivered by Professor Pat Utomi (Founding faculty, PAN-Atlantic University, Lagos).
According to the organizers of the award, the theme for this seventh edition “Shaping the Future Through Innovative Value Creation: Making a World of Difference” brings to the front burner the state of the world today, which calls for innovative and unusual solutions to social, environmental, governance as well as economic challenges.
The challenge that Nigeria presents to business is one that requires thinking out of the box, as businesses continue to compete in what seems an increasingly more charged, complex, dynamic and challenging landscape, the organizers noted.
Over the last seven years, there has been an appreciable and positive change in the way Nigerian brands engage with the Nigerian society and environment. {fcomments on}
