What for? You may want to ask? This is the intelligible question likely to come up in your mind especially when one considers that ‘Gun Power’ literally means an explosive, combustible influence or authority that could stir or aggravate a situation mostly in the negative or destructive sense.
However, the agency is poised to apply the concept on a positive note. For the agency, “Gun Power” is a platform for stimulating intellectual and professional discourse around old or new concepts in the industry with a view to exploring different possibilities to sharpen such concepts and improve delieverables. Power of revolutionary thinking you may come handy here!
According to Tunji Olugbodi, CEO, Verdant Zeal, it is a way of bridging gaps in intellectual depths in the industry by bringing professionals together to discuss and exchange ideas in an atmosphere of robust intellectual discourse.
Gun Power is coming on the heels of the group’s TACT forum. TACT means “Think and Act” a monthly in-house knowledge driven forum in which staff across the group are refreshed and charged to be on their toes through insightful discourse aimed at helping their profession career.
The last TACT which held May 23 considered the theme: First Viral, then what? Converting Viral content into Action. It had Wale Ekundayo, MD, Brainbox and Leke Akinpelu, MD, Redgecko deliver presentations on what will determine the future of brands and marketing generally. Mostly, TACT is designed to equip the staff across the Verdant Zeal’s group of companies for the challenges ahead especially in brand building and marketing. The training is usually conducted in an atmosphere of fun and conviviality.
Gun Power, whose debut edition holds June 20 has a similar concept, but in an expanded format which gives room for members of the industry –clients, agencies and competition alike to attend the event slated to hold at the Genesis Hotel, by Ghana High Commission, GRA Ikeja.
Beyond the immediate advertising and marketing industry, Gun Power will cater for the larger creative industry including movies, music, arts, sports, fashion modelling and so on.
It shall discuss issues around creativity just like a creative council explains the team’s creative director, Dipo Adesida. “Like the famed two sides to a coin, we will always have two discussants one for and the other against. We will review and critique works and style of their execution with a view to improving the mode, style and the thinking behind what we do”. {fcomments}
