Airtel The Voice Nigeria came to an heroic end on Sunday night with the declaration of Idyl, a talent from Team Timi Dakolo as winner of the show.

The grand finale of the season 2 edition saw the finalists giving the best performances ever. During the first round of performances, #TeamYemi’s Syemca and Chris Rio gave a collaborative rendition of Yemi Alade‘s Knack Am, and Yemi was there to back them up for effortless delivery.

#TeamTimi’s Jahtell & Idyl performed Timi Dakolo’s Find You There; #TeamWaje’s Wow & J’Dess performed Waje’s In The Air; and Yimika & Ebube from #TeamPato performed their coach’s new single, Love You Die.

After the first round of performances, Jahtell was evicted from the top four with Chris Rio, J’Dess & Yimika also shown the way out.

The next set of renditions saw Syemca delivering Wizkid’s The Matter, Ebube performed Wizkid’s Come Closer, Idyl took on the stage with Bez‘s You Suppose Know, and Wow handled Phyno‘s Fada Fada.

The last round of the final four, Syemca and Wow were evicted, leaving Idyl and Ebube as the top two contenders.

After all the pulsating pressure and another around of enactments, Idyl, who sang John Legend‘s This Time beat Ebube to emerge the winner of the show.

Idyl had the greatest moment of his life with a resounding ovation and cheers from the audience, following the announcement. His Coach, Timi Dakolo, was also over the moon with joy.

Idyl while speaking with the media after the win, thanked God for crowning his effort. He commended Airtel Nigeria for sponsoring the show and empowering Nigeria through music, education and other initiatives.

The 22 year old Bayelsa born singer walks away with the grand prize of a SUV from GAC Motors, recording deal with Universal Music, and a holiday to the picturesque city of Dubai courtesy of Ajala travels.

According to Airtel, The Voice Nigeria is a platform that is specifically designed to empower talented young Nigerians, offering a springboard to shoot exceptional youth to stardom.

The Voice Nigeria Season 2 was premiered on Sunday, 18 June, 2017 and ended Sunday, 24 September, 2017.
