Sam Osunsoko Resigns from Troyka Group, May Float Own Agency Soon
Sam Osunsoko, Managing Director, Leo Burnett has served the mandatory three months notice of resignation of appointment with the Troyka Group, the custodian of the Leo Burnett Agency brand in Nigeria and owners of Insight Publicis.
Mr. Osunsoko, findings reveal has put in about 18 ½ years of commendable service with the leading Nigeria’s advertising group. He joined Insight Group as a management trainee and rose through the ranks to become a force to be reckoned with within the group and the larger advertising industry.
In his LinkedIn profile, Sam describes himself as an experienced Managing Director with a demonstrated history of working in the marketing and advertising industry.
He is, according to the profile, “skilled in Marketing Management, Digital Strategy, Customer Insight, Integrated Marketing and Advertising”. He vaunts his “Strong business development” skills.
Sam has been in the saddle as Managing Director, Leo Burnett Lagos since Oct 2016 making a total of 16 months of running the agency as pioneer Managing Director in Nigeria.
Prior to this position, he was the Chief Operating Officer for same agency between January 2015 – September 2016.
Sam was seconded to Leo Burnett, Lagos from Insight Communications where he started his advertising career and rose to become an Account Management Director. Sam was in Insight for 15 ½ years.
Upon the landmark partnership deal between Insight Communications and Publicis Groupe and the subsequent consolidation of the all the publicis Groupe’s networks of agencies with Insight Communications, Leo Burnett was pulled in from an Insight Communications arch-rival to become a standalone second line agency within the Troyka Group.
While his mandatory notice of resignation will take effect in March, industry watchers believe the dude is very likely to set up his own advertising shop as he has literally done nothing but advertising and building brands all his life. So watch out!
