Mr. Bayo Adekanmbi, Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria

…proceeds on sabbatical...

The fellowship also focusses on academic doctoral research that solves real world problems. Bayo’s thesis, Algorithmic Pricing Optimization for the Emerging Digital/Social Business Model was adjudged the most industry-relevant PhD research work because of its profound theoretical construct and very simple real-world application.

Bayo’s decision to participate in this prestigious Ph.D programme is driven by his desire to better understand how emerging trends in the converging digital space will shape future competiveness especially in the area of real-time analytics and prescriptive customer behaviour. He will therefore be proceeding on sabbatical to enable him concentrate on his studies.

Speaking on this development, Bayo said, “The future is seamlessly converged and the power of real-time analytics will differentiate winners from losers. This underscores the need to understand how to create and lead market reinvention with business models that optimize the opportunities within the emerging Telco 2.0. I am really looking forward to the opportunity to contributing my quota to the next frontier of knowledge that will shape the mobilized future of integrated telecoms, commerce, retail, education, entertainment and multi-lifestyle solutions."

“MTN has a strong leadership bench strength. This aligns with our talent management and leadership development. We are therefore pleased to give Bayo our full support and we wish him the very best as he proceeds on sabbatical to take on this new challenge,” MTN, Corporate Services Executive, Akinwale Goodluck said.
