Preview: Wiko Rainbow Rides High on style, affordability

Banking on its phenomenon market success in France selling  two million smartphones in the country in 2013 alone, accounting for 8 percent of the market based on GfK research figures, Wiko recently made its inroad into Nigeria not hiding its intention to ruffle feathers with core global manufacturers of Smartphones making brisk business the highly competitive Nigerian market. 
 
Following up with its lower-end predecessors, Bloom, Lenny, Sunset, Fizz and Goa, Wiko is stepping up the tempo in Nigeria with its relatively new offering, ‘RAINBOW’.
 
Here, Brandcrunch previews the New Rainbow slated to officially debut in the country tomorrow. 
 
Just as its name indicates, the yet to be released Rainbow is colourful. Rainbow is available in seven exciting colours and is sure to appeal to all personalities especially the ladies folk who research highlights are in love with brilliant colours and change phones more often. Its hi-resolution screen with 5 inches display area gives the owner a pleasurable experience watching movies and videos. 
 
Packaging:
The very colourful tamper proof box confers confidence on the owner. Removing the Wiko seals automatically reveals ‘void’ on the package to warn the buyer. As a new owner, you’re eager to open the box. In there you find:

Talking about the actual phone in its original form in the package, its comes “wearing” black in the front with a brownish-grey back casing, which easily pops out to accommodate the extras. The screen measures 5” with a 720x1280p IPS display.

From display to look-and-feel to actual processor power, the Wiko Rainbow is a valid competitor with other devices in its range. Browsing and multimedia experience are pleasurable. Complete with cool gesture-based features, vibrating keys and a 4.4.2 Android Operating System, typing and generally operating the device is truly an enjoyable experience.

The camera on the Rainbow is a delight for photo freaks. With a secondary camera of 8 Megapixels and a Primary (Selfie) camera of 2MP with flash, picture quality is smooth, relatively clear and easy on the eyes. It also comes with extra shooting modes and features like Face Detection, ISO adjustment and Smile Shot (this automatically takes a photo when a smile is detected), to enhance the owner's picture/video shooting experience.

The Wiko Rainbow is a pretty good buy if you’re in the market for a budget device with cool features and ample accessories.  Based on its pricing structure, capability and stylishness, Wiko has got a good fight against rivals in its segment such as Techno.  However, established brands like Samsung, Lenovo mightbe had nuts to crack.
