Managers in brand communications in Africa will on November 5TH and 6TH, 2014, converge on Lagos, Nigeria to brainstorm on the emerging paradigm shift from integrated marketing communication to integrated brand promotions.
The gathering is at the instance of the Advertising Practioners Council of Nigeria APCON; North Dakota State University, USA and Value Fronteira Ltd, a Lagos based consulting firm which are jointly hosting the International workshop with the theme: Integrated Brand Promotions.
The workshop director, Professor Charles Okigbo in a statement, said that the workshop was designed to expose participants to the evolving shift from Integrated Marketing Communication to Integrated brand promotions, with emphasis on relevant strategies, tactics, research processes, analytical skills and exemplary case studies from different sectors and regions of the globe.
Speaking in the same vein, Professor Martin Oluba, Chief Executive Officer of ValueFronteira Ltd, added “companies need to adopt a strategy that can stand the future and present competition, create a robust approach and focus on the integral components that determine purchase decision and affinity in the occurrence of market shift…” This new direction is what informed the two-day capacity building workshop.
Expected at the workshop as participants are Marketing and brand managers/directors in leading companies, chief executive officers and head of corporate communications in government agencies, ministries and departments and heads of advertising and public relations firms as well as other business leaders from across Africa.
The participants will listen to the following resource persons: Dr. Charles Okigbo, a professor of Advertising Communication, North Dakota State University; his colleague, Dr Nan Yu, a communications expert and professor Joseph Jones, Professor of Marketing in the same University.
A contribution will come from Dr. Katherine Frith, Professor and Deputy Director, School of Journalism, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, USA. The USA team will be complemented by some of the best hands in marketing communication in Nigeria, namely: Mr Lolu Akinwunmi, Managing Director, Prima Garnet Africa; Mr. Enyi Odigbo, Managing Director, DDB Lagos and Mr Udeme Ufot, Managing Director SO&U Saatchi.
