As the Lagos state government declared Horn Free Day gets underway today across the State, creative materials developed by X3M Ideas as partners on the project will be exposed across all media including new or social media.
Speaking on the partnership, Chief Creativity Officer/CEO, X3M Ideas, Steve Babaeko says the Horn Free Day is a noble and very laudable project by the Lagos State government led by His Excellency, Babatunde Fashola, SAN, and it deserves the support of all.
“It is a cause for the good of all, that is why we have decided to support the project by creating befitting communication materials including logo, Print ads, radio jingles/hypes and TV materials all aimed at driving home the key message of one of this administration’s social initiative projects, “Horn Free Day” which holds today October 15, 2014”.
Beyond the materials which the agency offered pro-bono, Staff of X3M Ideas will carry out an activation exercise at Salvation Junction, off Opebi road, a busy transport hot-spot.
“We will be handing out fliers to passing motorists to raise awareness for the Lagos Horn Free Day and engendering participation and compliance so that going further there would be a conscious effort at reducing the level of noise pollution in our environment”, Babaeko disclosed while describing the government’s effort as a step towards sensitizing residents to the harmful effects of noise pollution as the governor had earlier pointed out.
According to Governor Fashola, the Horn Free Day is intended to persuade citizens that there is a better way to live than indulging in noise pollution which has been found to be harmful to their health.
“It is for our own good, it is for our own health, it is for our own life. It is not because Governor Fashola said so. It is not because Lagos State Government said so. It is simply because it is good for us. Doctors have told us it is for our own ultimate good”, the Governor said.
“What we see in a way that we now choose to live is that because we live in a very noisy environment, which we can really diminish, we tend to be very noisy ourselves. We speak at the top of our voices, we play music at very high decibels and we do very many things at very high levels”.
The Governor expressed satisfaction that the Ministry of Transportation and all its associated agencies, the Drivers’ Institutes, the Transport and the Law Enforcement Institutes, have all taken the Horn Free Day challenge up to the level of implementation. He urged everyone to join hands in bringing down the level of noise in our society. {fcomments}
