Star Radler, the exciting beer and citrus fruit drink from Nigerian Breweries, is passionate about empowering the creative and entertainment industry.
The brand, which was launched earlier this year, demonstrated this again, with the sponsorship of pop star 2Face Idibia’s 40th birthday celebration tagged #Fortyfied which held on Sunday September 20, 2015 at the Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
In the past few months, Star Radler has played a prominent role in several Nigerian entertainment platforms including AY Live, Alibaba at 50, One Love Peace Concert and Pearl Look 2015. With Nigeria’s burgeoning entertainment industry now worth some N853.9bn ($5.1bn) or approximately 1.2% of GDP, such support from brands is crucial to Nigeria’s economic growth and cultural projection.
Throwing light on Star Radler’s support for the Nigerian Creative Industry, Corporate Media & Brand PR Manager, Nigerian Breweries Plc Edem Vindah explained that Star Radler as a brand is deeply invested in promoting the Nigerian entertainment industry because the brand is about unleashing the innate creativity of youthful Nigerians.
In his words, “Creativity is central to the identity of Star Radler because it appeals to people who are young and expressive. Our support for the creative industry in Nigeria stems from our desire to promote the interests of these talents and inspire them to get even better. In this case, we are here to celebrate one of Nigeria’s most successful musicians ever, and our hope is that there are more 2Face Idibia’s out there whom we are inspiring to engage and improve their craft.”
On his part, the man at the centre of Fortyfied, 2face Idibia praised Star Radler for the show of support on his 40th birthday. In his words, “It really means a lot to me that on the occasion of my 40th birthday, Star Radler is here to celebrate with me. They say life begins at 40. If that is so, then I have started life with Star Radler and I look forward to living life for many more years.”
This sentiment was shared by several fans and personalities present at #Fortyfied to celebrate with one of Africa’s most illustrious music exports. Some of those in attendance included D’Banj, Burna Boy, Don Jazzy, Seyi Shay, Senator Florence Ita Giwa, Annie Macaulay, Klint D Drunk, Yaw, Bovi, KSB and Basket Mouth.
