Quickteller Referral Scheme Rewards Three Winners with N1million Each, Boosts FG’s Financial Inclusion
Three young men, Ogundipe Akinwale a civil servant, Ebo Precious and Chinedu Amos both student of the Enugu State University were thrown into ecstasy Thursday as they became winners of the maiden Quickteller referral consumer reward promotion.
The three young men in their early 20s emerged winners of N1million Naira each as top dogs in the Quickteller referral season 1 which entails referring new customers, getting them registered and activating their accounts. The winners activated 1506, 1673 and 1633 accounts respectively in the course of the three months duration of the promotion.
Cherry Eromosele, Chief Marketing Officer, speaking at the presentation which held at the George Hotel, Ikoyi explained that the 3 months promotion which rewards participants every step of the way is designed in line with government’s policy of financial inclusion.
“The target is for current users and loyal customers to introduce, register and activate new customers”. According to Eromosele, the ‘what’s in it for me’ for participants apart from the N1million grand prize for each of the three winners, is that a participant gets N200 for the first five people referred while he gets N40 for every transaction recorded (bill payment) while he gets 1.65% of value of airtime bought.
At the end of the 3rd month the leading three participants on the dashboard become the winners of the season.
Also speaking at the presentation, Charles Ifedi, Divisional CEO, Interswitch, says the Quickteller loyal customer rewards scheme will continue with presentations holding at the end of every 3rd month.
With two of the winners coming from Enugu, it shows the Federal government’s financial inclusion policy for the country is not misplaced. “There opportunities for the policy in the remote areas, while the concept and Quickteller reward encourages young one especially students to deploy their free time wisely and earn from it”.
Ifedi added that the dashboard is an open system that enable a participant see his position at any point in time and this fires him to deploy new strategies and tactics to recruit, register activate new users.
As the winners got their credit alerts for the N1million grand prize at the event and displayed such for confirmation by Suzie Onwuka, representative of the Consumers Protection Council (CPC), they expressed their confidence in the system, the company and the reward scheme.
For Chinedu Amos and Ebo Precious, it was a story of “jolly good fellows” as the former activated the latter, brought him on the scheme and both emerged two of the top three grand prize winners.
The season II of the scheme is slated to commence in July.
