Ugwonoh, Okoye, Join Babaeko as Members of NYF 2018 Grand Jury
The organizers of the New York Advertising Festival has selected two other Nigerian creative experts, Maurice Ugwonoh, Creative Director, Noah’s Ark Communications and Uzoma Okoye CEO/Executive Creative Director, Etu Odi Communications to join Steve Babaeko as members of the 2018 Grand Jury for the New York Festival.
Maurice Ugwonoh famed for his Airtel ‘Lost’ multi-awards winning campaign among other brilliant works, is described on NYF site is an accomplished Creative Director at Noah’s Ark Communications, an affiliate of the Dentsu Aegis Network in Lagos, Nigeria.
According the his profile on the NYF website, Maurice started his career as a copywriter and over a decade, worked with some of Nigeria’s brightest Advertising and Brand Experience agencies.
“This creative safari exposed Maurice to developing campaigns for Nigeria’s apex brands while turning less stately brands into formidable market leaders, thus acquiring the opportunity of winning notable local and multiple international awards spanning Epica, African Cristal and Loeries Festival Awards”.
Uzoma Okoye is an art director and brand communications expert working for some of the top agencies in London including AKQA and Wolf Olins. He rose to Creative Director, before founding an award-winning agency, Etu-Odi in Nigeria.
“Passionate about harnessing the creativity of the African continent he returned to head up creative for a Grey Advertising affiliate, bringing international quality and experience gained working on some of the largest brands such as Peugeot, Orange, Esso, HP, and IBM”.
Steve Babaeko will be making his second appearance as Grand Jury in the NYF having made his debut 2016 as a member of the 2016 online judging panel for the awards described as the World’s Best Advertising and Creative Communications Awards.
Other brilliant minds on the Jury include Luca Grelli, Executive Creative Director, TBWA/Hakuhodo Tokyo, Japan; Jens-Petter Aarhus, Founder/Creative Director, Anorak / NoA, Norway amongst others
The Grand Jury comprising of 300+ diverse brain trust of global creative minds in the advertising industry from 50 countries, will review global entries through two rounds of meticulous judging and select the creative work that merits Finalist Status. These entries will then move on to the medalist round. NYF’s Grand Jury is also the first line of defense, scrutinizing ads to provide security against possible scam ads.
