Adisa, Prof. Adewopo, Okupe, Others to feature at Gee Law’s Maiden Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights in Advertising, Media
The Consulting arm of GEE LAW FIRM is collaborating with major Advertising and Media bodies in Nigeria (AAAN, APCON, NIPR, MIPAN, ADVAN, etc) to organise a premier workshop on Intellectual Property Rights in Advertising and media.
The workshop with the theme: Intellectual Property Rights in Advertising: The Game Changer, is slated for Friday 29th November, 2019 at Radisson Hotel (Former Protea ), Isaac John Street , GRA , Ikeja, Lagos, will feature Lanre Adisa, Chief Creativity Officer /CEO, Noah’s Ark (Global Award Winning Agency) as keynote speaker.
Confirming that the Advertising Industry in Nigeria has grown to full maturity with various players contributing to its Value Chain, the organisers said, “in 2018 alone, the Above-the-line (ATL) spend on Advertising was 81 Billion Naira (Media Facts 2018). This is not inclusive of the huge Adspend on Online and Digital platforms running into several billions of Naira”.
The growth notwithstanding, the challenging economic terrain makes it pertinent for the Advertising Industry “rethink its Business Model to adapt to the global business dynamics with a view to increasing value creation, increase revenue options as well as engender sustainable profitable business operations” declares the convener, Barrister Nosakhare Uwadiae.
Aside from the keynote, Prof Adebambo Adewopo (SAN) who currently holds the first distinguished Intellectual Property (IP) Chair at the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS) and former Director-General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission will deliver a talk on the theme.
The Workshop is aimed at bringing together stakeholders in the Advertising Industry in Nigeria to participate in this conversation. In light of this, the oranisers have also put in place a respectable team of practitioners across Law, advertising and marketing as discussants.
