The Kano state based Mamuda Groups of Companies has embarked on a vigorous economic diversification drive, establishing more factories and ventures in line with the economic diversification policies of both the Kano State and Federal government. Making this disclosure recently at a media interactive session at the on-going unveiling of Mamuda Beverages Ltd, a new addition to the group and unveiling of Nigerian Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa as it’s Brand Ambassador, Mr. Hassan Hammond, Chairman, Mamuda Group of Companies explained that the group’s new diversification drive is very much in consonant with current government’s policies created to enhance the economic growth of the nation. Mamuda_DiversificationWhile underscoring the importance of diversifying the economic base of the nation, the Chairman decried the current situation.

He said, “I see it on papers that apart from petroleum (crude oil), Nigeria’s other natural resources include natural gas, tin, iron ore, coal, limestone, niobium, lead, zinc, gold, Kaolin, Syenite & Tatium and arable land. However, the oil and gas sector as been accounted as taken about 35% of her Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and its petroleum exports revenue represents over 90% of her total exports revenue.”

Highlighting the dominance of oil revenue on the total earning of the nation, the Chairman sees this as a major challenge and proffer a possible way out. “That is the major problem and the solutions to that lies in our hands, I am aware that the Nigerian administration is using economic diversification and I believe that is a way to address the major challenges.” According to him, the success and growth of Mamuda group and it’s businesses can be attributed to the consistency of its standards and strategies.

“We always work to be the best in what we do and will create significance on all our movements. We will work towards our aspiration exceeding boundaries to the functional and organizational lines. We recognize our employees as individuals while we commit to encourages open communication, friendship and professional growth because we believe that their growth and the growth of our organization works hand in hand for the improvement and building of a better Nigeria.”

Mamuda_Diversification_PopRevealing the organisation diversification efforts in concrete terms, Mr. Hammond revealed that as part of Mamuda Groups of Company’s drive in consolidating the efforts of Kano state and federal government’s in transforming our economy through economic diversification which involves transfiguring Agricultural sector, the group now consists among others, Mamuda Agro Sacks & Mat. The manufactures of high quality Sacks & Mat not only contributes in packaging milled and processed crops especially Rice, it also play a role in Nigeria’s exportation drive, he added.

As a supporter of the government’s backward integration policy, Mamuda Groups of company sources its raw materials locally, while also helping in improving Nigerian made products, export and jobs provision.

The Chairman further reiterated that the ongoing unveiling of Mamuda Beverages Limited and signing the Nigerian Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa as the brand ambassador is a testament to Mamuda Groups of Company’s commitment to economic growth of Kano and Nigeria as a whole.
